SkyTrain and buses
Our nearest station is King George, at the end of the Expo Line. Downtown Vancouver is a direct ride (about 40 minutes to Waterfront).
Paying
- Tap a credit or debit card, or your phone, at the fare gate. This is the easiest option if you’re only here for a few days.
- If you’ll ride a lot, buy a Compass Card from a station vending machine and load money onto it. Fares are a little cheaper.
- Use the same card or phone to tap in and tap out. If you switch, you’ll be charged the maximum fare.
Riding
- Tap in at the fare gates and go to the platform.
- If you’ll be changing lines, listen for the announcements and watch the signs on the platform that show which line the next train is on.
- On SkyTrain, tap out at the fare gates when you leave. On buses, you only tap when you get on.
Tip
On weekdays, SkyTrain fares depend on how many zones you cross. Evenings and weekends, every trip is a 1-zone fare.
Etiquette
- Let people off the train before you get on.
- Hold a pole or handle when standing.
- Take your backpack off and put it at your feet when it’s busy.
- Take your garbage with you.
Plan any trip with TransLink’s trip planner or Google Maps (choose transit).
